Open Top TechCELL and anode w/ anolyte supply tubing & quick disconnect

Low Profile TechCELL showing integral connection to anode

Clamp style closed top cells offer the easiest anode installation, removal, and inspection of any closed top cell.

The Original Tubular Anode Cell
The TechCELL is a flushable Anode Cell that was designed specifically for use in the Electrocoating Process. Its functions are to act as an opposing electrode to the product being painted and to remove the acid continuously released by the paint during the deposition process. The TechCELL's patented Tubular Design provides a number of benefits. These benefits include the lowest electrical resistance when compared to earlier Box and "C" cell designs, quick and easy universal placement, and one-man access to pull the anodes for inspection.

The standard TechCELL is comprised of a stainless steel anode housed in a PVC and Polypropylene shell. A resin based ion selective membrane tube that is potted in place covers the effective anode area. Electrical power is supplied to the TechCELL via a cable lead that is terminated with the industry standard "Anderson Power Pole" connector. This makes the TechCELL a direct replacement for any tubular cell and simplifies upgrading your system to TechCELL.

The anolyte solution is pumped from the anolyte tank, through the stainless steel anode to the bottom of the cell housing via large 3/8"ID clear tubing. The solution is pumped up through the annular space between the membrane tube and anode gathering up the Oxygen and contaminants from the cell. These are removed from the cell through the anolyte overflow nozzle and PVC tubing into a return manifold and back to the anolyte tank to close the loop.

Since its introduction in the early 1980's, the TechCELL rapidly increased in popularity and today is the accepted standard of the Electrocoat Industry. The TechCELL design is used worldwide and marketed under various Trade Names. Currently, well over one half of all the E-coat tanks in operation today use this technology. While most of these Tubular Cell installations were new tanks, a great number were conversions of the older Box and "C"Cell Technology.

Special TechCELLs
The TechCELL is available in any length your application needs. To date we have manufactured cells as short as 12" and as long as 20'.

Special TechCELL designs include a submergible model for use as a covered floor or ceiling cell. A Low Profile model for use on tanks utilizing a vertical conveyor and our newly patented Low Acid Removal Cells, which are unique to EMT and covered in the next section.

The standard Anode is constructed from 316L stainless steel. Special materials of construction are also available. Special materials include Conductive ceramics and Titanium with a Ruthenium Oxide coating. Special materials may be needed for applications sensitive to iron contamination, or have sensitive paint formulations, or for applications that inherently have high anode erosion.
